Contrary to common legend, Liverpool is not replete with scallywags eyeing up your alloys or footpads looking to accost you for your wallet. It’s pretty much the same as anywhere else so try not to fret if someone says ‘hello’ or smiles at you. It’ll all be fine – just don’t wear a Manchester United shirt.
If you have time, there are many beautiful buildings and sights to take in: From the magnificent Anglican Cathedral that took over 100 years to complete, the equally stunning St George’s Hall and nearby museums, the Albert Dock provides souvenir shopping and dining in abundance as well as housing Tate Liverpool.
Calderstones Park itself is a short walk from Strawberry Fields and John Lennon’s childhood (distinctly un-working class hero style) home.
There are many fine hotels in Liverpool and we are certain that you are intelligent enough to make your own choice in this matter. However… we strongly recommend avoiding The Adelphi Hotel and The Liner Hotel which have both seen better days.
