Q: What do you give a couple who have managed to aggregate
enough ‘stuff’ to fill two houses?
A: Nothing
We kindly ask that you do not buy us gifts, flowers, Lamborghinis etc. We have enough. However, we imagine all of us cannot help but notice that many people do not have enough. With this in mind we have selected two charities to which, if you wish, you can make a small donation and here are the details:
Susy has chosen The Reader, which is the wedding venue. It is a charity that does amazing work, amongst other things, in helping to get people of all ages reading books.
“On behalf of everyone at The Reader, thank you so much for supporting Shared Reading in celebration of Susy and David’s wedding celebrations.
With gift aid added, you’ve helped to raise over £1100 – helping to keep Shared Reading for free and for everyone and making a real difference in so many lives.
Just one example is a Shared Reading group that started at our home, The Calderstones Mansion House, 15 years ago; it’s become an integral and important part of the social lives of the group members, as well as sparking deep and lasting friendships. Read more about this group and the difference your support makes in people’s lives here. And for more examples of the impact of your donation please visit our blog for many more Reader Stories.”
Kind regards,
Lisa Brown
Development Coordinator at The Reader
David has chosen The Whitechapel Centre – the long-standing Liverpool charity helping homeless people living on the streets and supporting them in getting off the streets.

Remember, this is not a demand. Please only donate if you wish to and can afford to. Kind thoughts are always a good place to start.
